Develop Your Investor Climate Action Plans (ICAPs): A Course for Asset Owners

    January 17 to March 7, 2023
    Every Tuesday @ 11am PST / 2pm EST
    Explore the Syllabus

    Course Description

As the transition to a net zero emissions economy gains pace, Investor Climate Action Plans (ICAPs) can provide investors with a structured framework to mitigate investment climate risk, capture opportunities, and ensure the effective implementation of their climate goals.

Ceres is excited to offer a free, virtual 8-week course for asset owners looking for hands-on support to develop comprehensive Investor Climate Action Plans (ICAPs). Participants will have access to industry-specific case studies and practical readings, with tailored support from the Ceres team, our partners Chronos Sustainability and Meketa Investment Group. Participants will also work closely with the other asset owners in the course.

Each week, participants will be offered an overview of a specific element of the ICAPs framework, case-studies/examples of what other asset owners have done, and suggestions on the actions they can take to implement this element of the framework. Ceres and our partners will then be available through office hours and individual consultations to support the participants with the development of their ICAPs. Asset owners will also be encouraged to share their ICAPs and their experiences with the other cohort members in the course to facilitate shared learning.

The path to net zero vary for investors. ICAPs can be developed with or without a current net zero commitment. The ICAPs framework can be used to navigate existing expectations and initiatives on climate change for investors wherever they may be on their climate journey.

    Who Should Participate?

This course is designed to be most useful for asset owners who are developing or in the process of updating their ICAPs. Asset owners who already have ICAPs are welcome to join to learn about how they can refine certain elements of the ICAPs and hear how the implementation process is underway for other asset owner peers.

This course is invite-only due to the limited number of participants we can accept for this program.

    What’s Included

Case study presentations and a guided walk-through of the ICAPs framework

Office hours and the option for 1:1 consultation calls with Ceres team, Chronos Sustainability, and Meketa Investment Group for individualized support

If you are unable to attend a given session, recordings will be available to review later. All participants are expected to give a short, final presentation describing the progress they have made in developing and implementing their ICAPs and reflect on the lessons learned.
