    As climate-related losses escalate to unprecedented levels, traditional insurance pricing models are breaking down. Meanwhile regulators are grappling with how to allow insurers to price for rapidly evolving risks while maintaining affordability and market stability. This session explores innovative pricing strategies that balance actuarial soundness with social responsibility, including multi-year policies, forward-looking climate projections, and state-backed reinsurance mechanisms. Participants will gain an understanding of emerging pricing models and the regulatory reforms needed to implement them through perspectives from industry experts and consumer advocates.

    The foundation of the insurance crisis is the dramatic growth through fires, floods, storms, and other physical risks. This session examines the Strengthen Alabama Homes model, a comprehensive program combining regulatory reform, financial incentives, and industry collaboration to drive home hardening- and how other states are replicating this success.
