Codes for the Future: A Business Roundtable on High-Performance Buildings
Ceres at Climate Week NYC
Tuesday, September 22 | 5:00pm-7:00pm | Bar Jamon (address: 125 E. 17th St. New York, NY)
As states increasingly look for pathways to reduce emissions, strengthen grid reliability, and lower energy costs, building codes are becoming a hot topic across both regulatory and legislative spaces.
Join us for an evening of robust discussion and networking!
As a broader scope of policymakers begin to consider the role building codes play in the future of their state’s built environments, the business community has an important role to play in shaping practical, market-driven policies that pair well with modern codes.
This roundtable will convene commercial and industrial building owners, manufacturers, and policymakers, to explore how modern building codes can support building decarbonization while improving competitiveness, reducing operating costs, and creating greater certainty for investment in high-performance buildings.
The discussion will highlight the business case for consistent and robust building codes, providing a forum for stakeholders to identify implementation and market challenges and discuss policy solutions that can accelerate the adoption of cost-effective, energy-efficient technologies in large commercial and industrial buildings.
We hope you can join us on Tuesday, September 22 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Bar Jamon, a celebrated Spanish wine bar in the Gramercy neighborhood of Manhattan.
During this roundtable, we will:
Highlight the business case for building decarbonization by examining how modern building codes can reduce operating costs, improve energy performance, enhance resilience, and support long-term competitiveness for commercial and industrial buildings. |
||
Foster cross-sector collaboration among business leaders, manufacturers, commercial building owners, developers, and policymakers to identify shared priorities and opportunities for advancing building code modernization. |
||
Identify policy and implementation solutions by discussing barriers to adoption including workforce development, technology deployment, financing, and sharing best practices from states leading on building code innovation. |
||
Following our roundtable discussion, participants will enjoy a networking reception. We are looking forward to connecting with peers from the private and public sectors!
